Review: Cook's Ham

I had the wonderful opportunity to review some products from Cook's Ham. They sent me a Brown Sugar Spiral Half Ham, a Honey Quartered Spiral Ham, a Ham Steak, and a Butt Portion! My family and I usually have Turkey on Holidays but for this Christmas, courtesy of Cook's Ham, we tried the Brown Sugar Spiral Half Ham! It's our favorite!! The hams were very tender, not salty, juicy and the flavor was wonderful! We loved that with the Brown Sugar Ham, came a nice liquid Brown Sugar glaze sauce. I loved that a couple of the Hams were already pre-sliced for us! All of the Hams except for the Ham Steak were wrapped in some pretty, colorful foil. On their site, you can check out Ham TV and find some great tips and recipes in audio and video format. I highly recommend Cook's Ham to anyone! Thanks Cook's Ham!

Book Review by Max Lucado: Fearless

I'm a member of Thomas Nelson’s Book Review Blogger program and had the opportunity to review Max Lucado's new book, 'Fearless: Imagine Your Life Without Fear'.

We all battle our fears! LORD knows I have my share. Fear will always be knocking on our door, we just don't invite it in. We can fear less tomorrow than we do today. Max Lucado helps us to face our fears and there are those that are born out of legitimate concerns. Fear itself is not a sin. But it can lead to sin. Fear can keep us from accomplishing God's Will in our lives. Fear may fill our world, but it doesn't have to fill our hearts. With Christ, we don't need to live in constant fear of anyone or anything. There are Scriptures throughout the book for combating our fears. Max Lucado tells some wonderful stories in this book. He's a great Storyteller! I enjoyed this book and will definitely read it again. There is a discussion guide in the back of this book that can be used by individuals or groups. Each lesson consists of three parts for each chapter: Examining Fear, Exposing Fear and Battling Fear.

Book Review: Voices of the Faithful Book 2

I'm a member of Thomas Nelson’s Book Review Blogger program and had the wonderful opportunity to review: 'Voices of the Faithful Book 2.' I'm a huge 'fan' of Missionaries and their life stories that they present. These are inspiring stories of courageous Christians serving all around the world. I haven't read book 1 yet but in the future I hope to do so. I was really interested in reviewing this book as I thought it would be like my Jesus Freak/DC Talk books and it's very similar to those.

In 'Voices of the Faithful Book 2', each day you'll see a verse from the Bible, the Missionary's story and a brief prayer. Over 300 missionaries wrote these daily devotions. Beth Moore had a vision of the series and for writing the introduction. I don't recommend reading straight through but rather just taking each day as it comes and allow time to reflect daily on each devotion. What I long for after having read each devotion, is that I look forward to what the next day will bring. You will see the LORD's hand in every story presented and your heart will be gripped with a love for the lost. Start the year off by reading this devotional book in combination with your Bible! I really look forward to hopefully more books in this series. I highly recommend this book to anyone to is desiring an intimate relationship with the LORD!
